PSALM 18:30-36
30 God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection. 31 For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? 32 God arms me with strength, and he makes my way perfect. 33 He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. 34 He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. 35 You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great. 36 You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping.

REFLECT
In this portion of the Psalm, David is reminding himself of God’s past faithfulness and the ways in which he has seen God show up throughout his life. As we enter into the season of Thanksgiving, this is a great practice for us as well. Some families erect a “Thanksgiving tree” in November and hang small tags on the tree identifying items they are thankful for. This is a great physical way to remind yourself to see and savor the moments in your own life when God showed up, and it also allows you to see into the heart of your family members as you read the content of their tags.

"Give us today our daily bread."
Lord, give me eyes to see your provision every day this week. Open my eyes to your goodness in every gift, and let my heart dwell on the ways you have provided for my needs and praise you. Amen.
