JUDE 24-25
24 Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault. 25 All glory to him who alone is God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord. All glory, majesty, power, and authority are his before all time, and in the present, and beyond all time! Amen.

REFLECT
What if verse 24 said this instead: “Now all glory to ME, because I worked really hard to keep myself from falling away and brought myself with great joy into God’s presence without a single fault…” Who would verse 25 ascribe glory to then? More importantly, who would ever be good enough to say that?
Thank God it doesn’t say that!! One of the most beautiful truths of the gospel is that God himself is the rescuer, God himself is the sustainer, God himself is the purifier of his people. This was true 2,000 years ago, it was worthy of reminder and proclamation over a century ago when Ada Habershon wrote “When I Fear My Faith Will Fall,” and it’s worthy of remind in 2024. Christ will hold you fast!

Q: Who does the work in verse 24? Who gets the glory in verse 25?
Q: How can God bring us into his glorious presence without a single fault? If we know we are sinful and in need of a rescuer, what has to happen for verse 24 to be true?
Q: Do you have a friend who needs to know that if they come to Christ, they are declared righteous and without a single fault?

PRAY
"And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one."
Lord, remind me that living a life that glorifies you is not entirely up to me to me. Even as I struggle against temptation, I cry out to you to rescue me from the evil one, from my own proclivity to sin, from the temptations that beckon me to forsake your way and go it alone. Hold me fast, Lord. Remind me again and again that you love me so, and hold me fast. Amen.
