PHILIPPIANS 2:16-18

Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain and that my work was not useless. But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy. Yes, you should rejoice, and I will share your joy.

REFLECT

Do you sometimes feel like your race is in vain and your work is useless? Maybe it’s time to shift your perspective to the One who sees your complete race. He sees it from beginning to end. He knows how this moment in time is establishing you for a greater work. He knows what He is developing in you so that you can have a strength that’s needed for the next leg of the race.

Your work is not in vain when it is done in the perspective of eternity. Only the things you do for the Lord will stand the test of time. So if you find yourself a little weighed down by the work you are in, shift your eyes to Heaven. Feel free to ask God how this current season is refining you so you can be a greater ambassador for His Kingdom purpose.

APPLY

Q: Are you holding firm to the word and allowing it to shape your perspective on each day you face?

Q: How can you apply the words you see in these verses to the work that you are doing in this season?

Q: Is there someone in your life who needs to know that God sees them right where they are at and He has a purpose for their life?

SING

PRAY

"May your Kingdom come soon. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven."

Lord, I pray that I will be more focused on your purpose for my current season of life. May I trust You with the details and lean into what You have for me through it. May I run my race on purpose for Your Kingdom purpose in and through me!
