READ
PSALM 32:1-4
Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
3 For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
4 For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.

REFLECT
We don’t like to feel sin at a personal level. Our culture has embraced personal truth and self-soothing philosophy over dealing with the most important need. It’s like ripping off the budding flower of the weed: It may look less bad, but the root of the issue remains. But Godly sorrow brings true repentance. The first step is to call it for what it is: Sin. You must recognize what is weighing you down by prayerfully asking God to examine your heart.

PRAY
"Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy."
Lord, you are holy and mighty and loving. You have paid such a high price for me, and there’s no way I can live in sin any longer. My heart is heavy, and I bring it before. Please reveal to me where I need to repent and where I need to embrace more of you. Amen.
