REFLECT

Where are you today?  The verses above are just a few giving advice about life’s spiritual journey from a God-centered perspective.  But our journey in life is more than spiritual, it’s physical and mental as well.  If you are an adult, consider where you were spiritually, physically, and mentally  10 years ago, 20 years ago, or more.  What are the changes you’ve seen in your life journey?  A young person too can look back a few years and see radical changes in physical and mental growth.  But while our physical journey has a definite ending, our spiritual journey does not.  As a born-again believer in Christ, you know there is a promise in John 14:3, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” Christ himself made the promise. Paul alluded to being like Christ after this part of our journey in 1 John 3:2.

So what journey are you on until then, and where are you on that journey?  Just starting out as a new believer?  Are you a longtime believer?  The length of time of being a believer does not necessarily reflect where you are on your journey with Christ.  Look back at when you first claimed Jesus as your savior and your faith at that point.  Do you feel your faith has grown since then?  This is a true gauge of where you are.  Hopefully, prayerfully, you’ve always been IN PROGRESS.
