READ
1 CORINTHIANS 6:14-17
"And God will raise us from the dead by his power, just as he raised our Lord from the dead. Don’t you realize that your bodies are actually parts of Christ? Should a man take his body, which is part of Christ, and join it to a prostitute? Never! And don’t you realize that if a man joins himself to a prostitute, he becomes one body with her? For the Scriptures say, 'The two are united into one.' But the person who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with him."
REFLECT
In these verses, the apostle Paul reminds the Corinthian believers of the profound truth that our bodies are not our own but parts of Christ. As followers of Jesus, our identity and purpose are intricately connected to Him. Just as God raised Christ from the dead, He will also raise us by His power, emphasizing the eternal significance of our bodies.
Our union with Christ changes the way we live! It means that we are called to honor God with our bodies, avoiding any behaviors that defile or dishonor the sacredness of our union with Him. Paul specifically addresses the issue of sexual immorality, emphasizing the incongruity between joining our bodies to Christ and uniting them with a prostitute. As followers of Christ, we have entered into a voluntary agreement of living under lordship which included living a life of biblical morality.

Q: Think about how your understanding of being united with Christ influences your decisions and actions. Does it lead you to make choices that honor God and reflect your identity as His follower?
Q: Who do you know that needs to declare Christ as Lord? How can you encourage them this week?

"Give us today our daily bread."
Lord God, Thank you for connecting me to you and providing for all of my needs. I acknowledge my imperfections and the inevitability of making mistakes, but I pray for your guidance and strength to safeguard my sexual purity and walk in obedience to your commands. With a sincere heart, I desire to honor you in every aspect of my life. Grant me the wisdom to discern the temptations that surround me and the resolve to choose righteousness. Amen
