ACTS 2:36
“So let everyone in Israel know for certain that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, to be both Lord and Messiah!”
REFLECT
In this powerful proclamation by the apostle Peter on the day of Pentecost, he boldly declares that Jesus, whom they crucified, is both Lord and Messiah. This statement carries profound implications for our faith and understanding of who Jesus is.
Jesus being Lord means that He is the supreme authority and ruler over all creation. It highlights His divine nature and sovereignty. As Messiah, He is the long-awaited Savior, fulfilling the prophecies and bringing redemption to humanity.
Acknowledging Jesus as both Lord and Messiah demands a response from us. It challenges us to examine our priorities, decisions, and lifestyle in light of His Lordship. We are called to surrender our lives to Him, aligning ourselves with His purposes and submitting to His authority. We are voluntarily asking Christ to be the one to tell us how to live.
